Former Soccer Coach Peter Reynaud Passes At 82

Reynaud led Long Beach State Women’s Soccer for three seasons.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Former Long Beach State Women's Soccer Head Coach Peter Reynaud passed away at 82 in 2026. The respected leader for multiple programs spent three seasons with Long Beach State.
Coaching the Beach from 2001-2003, Reynaud was the second head coach following the re-institution of the program in 2001, and turned around the trajectory of the program, recording more wins of each of his three seasons at Long Beach State, capped by a 9-9-0 overall record in 2003.
Reynaud came to the Beach from Fresno State, where he was the first coach in the program's history from 1995-2000, leading the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. He also had a successful tenure at Sonoma State, leading the Seawolves to an NCAA Division II Championship and receiving induction into the Sonoma State Athletics Hall of Fame.
