LONG BEACH, Calif. -- After two road draws to open Big West play, Long Beach State will now return home for a pair of league games this week at George Allen Field. The Beach starts by hosting CSUN on Wednesday night, before taking on Sacramento State on Saturday. Both games will start at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

KICKOFF
• Senior Cherrie Cox scored two more goals for Long Beach State in the two ties, continuing her torrid start to the season. Cox now has 12 goals on the year, third-most in the nation.

• The former Big West Offensive Player of the Year is climbing up the career lists at Long Beach State as well. With 35 career goals, Cox is just one away from tying program record-holder Ashley Gonzales, and ranks in the top 10 in points, assists and game-winning goals as well.

• Last week on the Central Coast, the Beach rallied from two one-goal deficits to come away with a 2-2 draw at UC Santa Barbara behind goals from Kailey Supa and Cox. Then on the weekend, Cox scored early for a 1-0 lead at Cal Poly, but a penalty kick allowed the Mustangs to come away with the tie despite putting just one shot on target in the run of play.

• The two ties came on the road against the two teams picked to finish on top of the Big West prior to the season.

• The Beach completed non-conference play with a 6-1-2 record, their best start through nine matches in program history.

PLAYER NOTES
• Senior Cherrie Cox has scored in five straight games for Long Beach State, and in 8 of Long Beach State's 11 games this season. Cox leads Long Beach State with 12 goals and 26 points, starting 11 games.

• Cherrie Cox recorded her third multi-goal performance of the season with a brace at Nevada. She also scored a hat trick at Fresno State and another brace against Weber State.

• With her performance at Nevada, Cox became the fifth player in program history to score at least 10 goals in multiple seasons. She scored a career-high 13 goals in 2023.

• Cox has 35 goals and 13 assists for 83 points through 59 career appearances. She is one goal away from tying the program record set by Ashley Gonzales. She passed Gonzales for fifth on the all-time points list for 5th, and ranks sixth with eight game-winning goals.

• The 2023 Big West Offensive Player of the Year, Cox was also named the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2022. She earned Big West Offensive Player of the Week and TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week recognition earlier this season.

• Jordan Candelaria made her 60th career appearance at Nevada. The senior captain has started all 11 games this season and owns three goals and four assists during her Long Beach State career, playing primarily as a defensive midfielder this season.

• Sophomore Ameera White leads Long Beach State with seven assists, which is tied for sixth in the nation. The 2025 Big West All-Freshman Team selection is second on the team with nine points on the season, and has started every game during the 2026 campaign.

• Senior Radisson Banks is second on the team with 30 shots and 15 on goal this season. She converted a penalty kick at Nevada and has two goals and three assists this season.

• Kailey Supa is now second on the team in goals with three. The junior scored on the road at UC Santa Barbara, and has eight points this season with two assists as well. Her point total this season is higher than either of her previous two seasons, and is going to well surpass her minutes played total as well.

• Zoe Willis remains the only Long Beach State player to have played all 990 minutes this season. The senior captain has contributed to all six shutouts while extending her career total to almost 5,000 total minutes.

• Kana Uchida surpassed 5,000 career minutes during the victory at Nevada. The senior has appeared in 66 matches with 63 starts and has one goal and six assists.

• Senior goalkeeper Aurora Schuck has recorded a four shutouts this season, and continues to pile up big career numbers. Shuck ranks third in program history with 14 shutouts, and her 4,005 minutes in goal also rank third. Her 161 saves are fourth-most in program history, and her 15 wins is seventh all-time.

• Amaya Sanles made a career-high five saves in the 3-0 victory at Nevada. The redshirt sophomore has recorded shutouts in both of her collegiate starts, stopping all six shots on goal she has faced over those 180 minutes.

• Taylor Bellotti has appeared in every game and made 8 starts during her freshman season. She has one goal and two assists for four points while playing 616 minutes.

• Emerson Obrist matched her career high with two shots at Nevada and put both attempts on goal. The freshman has appeared off the bench in all 11 games and recorded her first collegiate assist at Fresno State.

• Sydney Beaumont has started all nine matches in which she has appeared, playing 785 minutes on the back line. The freshman recorded her first collegiate assist at Grand Canyon.

• Ruby Mansour has started all 10 games on the back line and played 732 minutes. The sophomore has helped the Beach hold six opponents scoreless while contributing five shots at the other end.

• Natalie Arnold made her third start of the season at Nevada. The senior has appeared in all 11 games and has three goals and one assist through 42 career appearances.

• Cassidy Drago put both of her shots on goal at Nevada. The BYU transfer has started 9 games, playing in every game this season and ranks third on the team with 16 shots, including eight on goal.

• Senior Kylie Perez has played in nine games this season, helping the Beach defense record five shutouts during her time on the field.

• Other early contributors include freshman Olivia Yu, who had her first collegiate assist setting up Cherrie Cox at UC Santa Barbara, freshman Ava Jackman who has played in five games, and Nikki Velasco, who has eight appearances after transferring from UC Riverside.

THIS AND THAT
• Long Beach State completed non-conference play at 6-1-2. The Beach earned victories over Colgate, Fresno State, New Mexico State, Weber State, Portland and Nevada while drawing Saint Mary's and Grand Canyon.

• The Beach are unbeaten away from home at 3-0-3. Long Beach State has outscored their road opponents 14-4, earning shutout victories at Fresno State, New Mexico State and Nevada before playing Grand Canyon to a 1-1 draw. In conference play, the Beach earned two ties to start Big West action at UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.

• Long Beach State has scored 21 goals through 10 games, averaging 2.10 per game. The Beach have taken 140 shots and put 71 on goal, an on-goal percentage over 50%.

• The Beach defense has recorded six shutouts while allowing 10 goals. Long Beach State has held opponents to 106 shots and 49 shots on goal over 990 minutes.

• The Beach have recorded six shutouts in nine matches. Aurora Schuck has four, while Amaya Sanles picked up two in her first two collegiate starts.

• The Beach went 2-4-4 in Big West play last season. Long Beach State earned conference victories over UC Riverside and UC Davis while recording draws against Hawai'i, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.

• Mauricio Ingrassia is in his 23rd season leading Long Beach State. He earned his 200th career victory at the Beach on August 31, 2024, and starts the week with a 215-152-64 career record.
