Four Beach Athletes Earn Big West Honors

Elena Kotanchyan earns All-Big West first team honors while Anne de Kleer earned honorable mention and All-Freshman team honors.

Long Beach, Calif. — The Big West conference announced the 2021 All-Big West teams on Thursday and four Beach athletes were recognized for their performance this season.

Elena Kotanchyan earned first team honors, while Anne de Kleer, Mariah Walker and Gabriella Matafora-Adams earned honorable mention nods.

Along with earning a spot on the honorable mention list, de Kleer also earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.

In 2021, Kotanchyan scored a team-high 25 goals and posted a Big West best 2.3 goals per game. This is Kotanchyan's second honor with the Beach after being named an honorable mention All-American last season.

During her second season with the Beach, de Kleer scored 17 goals and earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.

Matafora-Adams dished out a team-high 12 assists while scoring 14 goals and Walker scored 12 goals in her first season at the center position.
