LBSU Men’s Golf Set for Cle Elum Regional for NCAA Postseason Action

2021 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship Program
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team begins NCAA postseason action as the No. 12 seed in the Cle Elum Regional on Monday, May 17 at Tumble Creek Golf Club in Cle Elum, Wash.
The Beach punched their ticket to their fourth appearance in an NCAA Regional (2000, 2004, 2012, 2021) and their first appearance since 2012 after winning their third Big West Conference Championship in program history on May 4.
LBSU is one of 14 teams set to compete in the Cle Elum Regional which will tee off at the Par-71 7,069-yard course on Monday, May 17. The Beach will join host and No. 7 seed Washington, as well as top-seeded Wake Forest, No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Arizona, No. 5 San Francisco, No. 6 Iowa, No. 8 East Tennessee State, No. 9 Utah, No. 10 Oregon, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 13 Denver, and No. 14 Sacramento State in the three-day event.
In addition to the 14 teams, there will also be five individuals competing in Carson Lundell of BYU, Matt McCarty of Santa Clara, Jack Trent of UNLV, Jake Vincent of Southern Utah, and Gabe Lysen of Utah Valley.
Long Beach State heads into the tournament led by Big West Coach of the Year Michael Wilson and his five Big West All-Conference selections including Player of the Year, Hunter Epson, and Tri-Freshman of the Year, Clay Seeber.
Epson and Seeber were also Big West First Team selections, while Isaac Rodea was named to the All-Second Team, and Hunter Reed and Tyler Schafer were Honorable Mention selections.
The Beach received a strong performance from the five at the Big West Championships as each finished in the top 10, while Seeber was runner-up.
The Cle Elum Regional is one of six Regional Tournaments which will be conducted May 17-19. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from the Cle Elum Regional will advance to the NCAA Finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the 2021 Championships.
