No. 16 Beach Falls to No. 10 Pepperdine

No. 16 Long Beach State dropped their midweek contest against No. 10 Pepperdine, 3-2.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 16 Long Beach State (11-10) fell to No. 10 Pepperdine (8-12) in their midweek matchup. It is the second time this season the Waves have topped the Beach.
Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi lost a very close first set, but bounced back to take the fourth flight in three sets to give LBSU the early 1-0 lead. They are now a remarkable 15-3 in the fourth flight.
Pepperdine would come back to take the second flight and even up the score at 1-1.
Emily Mattoon and Jillian Rodriguez put on an impressive showing on court number three to take their flight in straight sets.
Unfortunately, the Waves would take the first and third flights almost simultaneously and come out the dual victory.
The Beach will look to bounce back this weekend up in Northridge beginning with No. 9 Grand Canyon on Friday.
