Molina and Spriggs Named Big West Pair of the Week

Seniors Mari Molina and Tyler Spriggs have been named Big West Pair of the Week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Seniors Mari Molina and Tyler Spriggs have been named the Big West Pair of the Week after an undefeated week at Hawaii.
For Molina, it is her second career Big West weekly honor while it is the first for Spriggs.
The duo went 3-0 against the No. 16 ranked Rainbow Wahine last week with a pair of straight-set wins and a three-set victory that gave the Beach their lone dual win at Hawai'i.
Molina and Spriggs have been on an absolute tear lately, winning their last five duals as well as 12 of their last 14.
Representing the first flight in every match this season, the pair is 14-6 overall which marks the second best record on the team. Their 14 wins thus far is ranked fourth most in a single-season in program history with eight duals left in the season.
Adding their wins from the abbreviated 2020 season, their 21 total first flight victories is the third most by a duo in program history.
The Beach returns to the LBSU Sand Courts this week taking on Pepperdine on Wednesday before heading up to Northridge for three duals.
