Long Beach State rolled to a 9-3 win in game two but had their winning streak snapped at 11 games.
Long Beach State (21-6, 15-2 Big West) struck first in the bottom of the first inning as Alyssa Gonzalez scored on an RBI single from Breezy Wise to make the score 1-0. Samantha Fowler, making her first career start, was stuck with an unearned run in the second inning.
The Beach retook the lead against Cal Poly (10-15, 4-10 Big West in the bottom of the third inning after pushing around Rylie Seip following a leadoff single. The Mustangs answered with a run in the top of the fourth, however, and Fowler exited with a no-decision despite striking out five over her four innings.
Morgan Quinlan pitched the fifth inning, and the Beach broke open the game in the bottom half. Gonzalez started off the frame with a single, and then Suzy Brookshire tripled and came home to score when the relay was kicked into the dugout, making the score 5-3. Emily Salazar then reached on another error and scored on a Cam Cecil double to give the Beach a 6-3 lead.

Quinlan walked three straight batters to start the sixth inning as the Mustangs immediately threatened the lead. Turning to Kellie White, the senior picked up a strikeout for the first out, and after an RBI groundout, induced a popup to Cecil at shortstop that got the Beach out of the inning with a 5-3 lead.
The Beach paid White back in the bottom of the inning, as the top of the order did a ton of damage. Naomi Hernandez and Seip singled to start the inning, and after a walk to Gonzalez loaded the bases, Suzy Brookshire scored two runs with a double, and then two more came home on a sacrifice fly from Breezy Wise to account for the final 9-3 margin.

Errors haunted Long Beach State in the opening game, as Cal Poly scored four unearned runs in the first game to take a 5-1 win, snapping Long Beach State's winning streak at 11 games.
Long Beach State scored first, pushing across a run after a single from Sara Olson and a double from Brookshire. The Mustangs would plate a pair in the top of the second inning after a wild throw trying to catch the lead runner went into the outfield.
Cal Poly would add another unearned run in the fourth inning, and then had a runner reach on a third error in the fifth inning in front of Shelby Jeffries, who homered to make the score 5-1. Long Beach State threatened during the game, but a few nice defensive plays from the Mustangs thwarted the opportunities made from seven hits and Kystyna Allman came away with the win for Cal Poly.
Long Beach State and Cal Poly will play one final game in the series with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
