The No. 15 ranked Beach lost a close battle in their first dual in Honolulu.
HONOLULU, Hawaii – No. 15 Long Beach State lost a tough one in their first of three duals at Hawaii. With the loss, the Beach moves to 10-8 on the season.
Emily Mattoon and Jillian Rodriguez got off to a great start, taking their first set. The Rainbow Wahine would force a third set and take an early lead. Mattoon and Rodriguez would battle back and bring it within a single point, but the comeback came up short as Hawaii took the first point.
Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi continued their fantastic 2021 campaign taking the fourth flight in straight sets to even the score up at one point each.
However, UH would take the second and third flights to secure the dual victory.
Mari Molina and Tyler Spriggs would go on to take the first flight in straight sets as they continue to dominate. The pair has now won 10 of their last 12 duals.
The Beach will have Friday off, and get back to action against the Bows for two duals on Saturday.
