Hunter Epson Named Big West Men’s Golfer of the Month

Epson led Long Beach State in both February competitions

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State senior Hunter Epson was named Big West Men's Golfer of the Month for the month of February. The conference made the announcement Thursday afternoon.

Epson earns the monthly accolades after leading the Beach at both the Nick Watney Invitational and The Prestige during the month of February.

The Long Beach, Calif., native and graduate of Wilson High School finished in a tie for fourth place at the Nick Watney Invitational with a 9-under par after shooting 69-70-69.

Epson came back the following week and tied for 21st at The Prestige which featured some of the top competition in the country. With Epson leading the way (73-74-69), Long Beach State was the top finisher among Big West schools as the Beach finished in the top 10.

Epson and the Beach will be back in action on Sunday, March 7 when they compete at the Bandon Dunes Championships in Bandon, Ore.
