No. 19 LBSU Picks Up Two Wins on First Day in San Luis Obispo

No. 19 ranked LBSU Beach Volleyball picked up a pair of wins, going 2-1 in their first day up in San Luis Obispo.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – No. 19 ranked Long Beach State (8-7) pushed their record above .500 for the first time this season after picking up wins against CSUN and CSU Bakersfield before falling to No. 5 ranked Cal Poly.
The Beach was quick to get in the win column, sweeping the Matadors 5-0. Makenzie Griffin and Kenzie Holtz secured the dual with a three-set win in the third flight. LBSU dominated the dual, only dropping one set to CSUN.
Long Beach State kept the momentum rolling taking down CSU Bakersfield, 4-1, in their second dual of the day. Griffin and Holtz once again secured the dual with a straight-set victory in the third flight.
In the night cap in San Luis Obispo, the Beach fell to the host Mustangs 4-1. Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi won the lone point for Long Beach State.
They will finish out the weekend at Cal Poly with duals against UC Davis and Hawaii on Saturday.
