No. 18 Ranked LBSU Set for Seven Duals in Five Days

No. 18 Long Beach State will have a very busy week as they play a tri-dual on Tuesday and then participate in the Big West Challenge this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 18 Long Beach State will play seven duals in five days this week beginning with a tri-dual hosted by Concordia (Irvine) tomorrow. They will play Colorado Mesa at 10:30 a.m. followed up by the host Eagles at 12:30 p.m. The Beach will then play every member of the Big West Conference this weekend in San Luis Obispo, Calif. as part of the Big West Challenge.
Long Beach State is coming off a successful 2-0 week snapping a five-match losing streak last Friday with a 4-1 victory over Boise State and a 5-0 sweep over Utah.
Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi have yet to lose to a school not named USC this season, sporting a 7-2 record thus far, the best mark on the team.
The top duo of Mari Molina and Tyler Spriggs have turned things around after a slow start to the season, winning three of their last four duals. They are 5-5 on the season.
ABOUT COLORADO MESA
-Colorado Mesa enters the week after a couple of wins over Utah last week. They are 2-3 on the season with a pair of duals on Monday before the tri-dual at Irvine
-A DII school, they have only played DI schools to this point including ranked opponents Arizona, Arizona State, and Grand Canyon.
-This will be the fourth time the Beach and Mavericks face each other with LBSU sweeping the three previous matchups.
ABOUT CONCORDIA (IRVINE)
-Concordia also enters the week with a 2-3 record with their three losses coming against top ten programs.
-Another DII school, they have only played one non-DI opponent, which was a 4-1 victory over The Master's University last week.
-The Beach has won all seven matchups thus far with the last being a 4-1 victory in February of last year.
SCOUTING THE BIG WEST CHALLENGE
-With no conference season, the Big West institutions will meet in San Luis Obispo where every team will play each other once with the exception of Sacramento State, who does not begin their season until next month.
-Cal Poly enters the weekend as the top team, boasting an 8-3 record and ranking number five in the nation.
-Despite not playing any matches yet, Hawaii comes in ranked at number six in the nation. They are scheduled for nine duals this week with a pair of tri-duals against UC Davis and Stanford.
-CSUN sits in second in the standings with a 3-4 record, just ahead of Long Beach State. However, they have yet to defeat a DI opponent.
-CSU Bakersfield is 1-2 on the season with their lone win coming against The Master's University in their season opener.
-UC Davis sits at 1-3 for the year with their lone win coming against St. Mary's at the beginning of March.
