Women’s Golf Closes First Day Of Bruin Wave Invitational

Two more rounds will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
SOMIS, Calif. – Long Beach State wrapped up the first day of completion at the Bruin Wave Invitational in a tie for 12th place overall among the excellent field at the event, co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine.
Battling high winds on the day at The Saticoy Club, it was true freshman Angelina Kim that recorded the low round on the day with a 79. Kim finished the first of three days of competition tied for 22nd overall amongst the 82 player field.
Senior Holland Shourds was two strokes behind with an 81 in a tie for 337th overall, while Hunter Pate recorded an 82 and Chloe Carraway was the final scoring member for the Beach with an 84 overall.
No player in the tournament finished under par for the day, as Oregon and Arizona State shared the lead following the first day of competition.
The second round is scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. again on Tuesday, with the final round of the tournament in the 15-team field coming on Wednesday.
