Women’s Golf hosts their signature event on February 22-23.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The ninth edition of The Gold Rush is schedule to tee off on Monday, February 23, as the Beach returns to Old Ranch Country Club to host their signature event.
Hosted by Long Beach State, The Gold Rush will once again be played at one of the home courses for the Beach, Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. The Par 72, 6,218 yard course will serve as a spectacular setting for the second tournament of the freshly restarted season for Long Beach State.
The Gold Rush continues to come into its own as an event as well. This year, the tournament field features 12 teams, primarily located from the west. USC is the top rated team in the field, and other non-conference foes in the field include BYU, Fresno State, Idaho, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, UNLV and Wyoming. The Big West is also well represented, with four teams from conference participating in Cal Poly, CSUN, UC Irvine and the hosts Long Beach State.
For the Beach, senior Holland Shourds will again lead the group after placing as the team's top finisher in their season debut at the Lamkin Invitational. Sophomore Hunter Pate returns in the second spot, while Chloe Carraway will make her 2021 debut playing third for LBSU. True freshman Angelina Kim will follow, and Vanessa Richani again makes the competitive lineup for the Beach.
Freshman Khameryn Utu also returns to action, competing as an individual.
Limited spectators will be allowed to catch the action. Everyone attending the Gold Rush will be required to fill out this Health Screen Questionnaire each day and check in prior to entering the venue. Tips for navigating the questionnaire are below:
Long Beach State Athletics and Old Ranch Country Club would like to remind spectators that the Old Ranch Country Club Dress Code is in effect at all times.
