Beach Volleyball Announces 2022 Schedule

The Beach will play six matches at the LBSU Sand Courts and 20 matches on the road.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Head Coach Mike Campbell and the Long Beach State women's beach volleyball team has announced their schedule for the 2022 season. The slate consists of six home matches and 20 matches on the road, as well as hosting the Big West Challenge.
The year opens up with a home matchup against the defending national champion USC Trojans. The start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24 at the LBSU Sand Courts.
The next day, the Beach will head into Irvine for matches against Irvine Valley, Cal, and Oregon.
On March 1, LBSU will host their first tri-dual of the season as Stetson and Loyola Marymount come to Long Beach. The Beach will play Stetson at 10:00 a.m. and LMU at 2:00 p.m. with the neutral game in between.
Long Beach State will then start a seven-match road stretch where they will face UCLA, USC again, Stanford, and Big West rival Cal Poly hosted by the Bruins on March 5-6. After matches against Concordia and Vanguard, the Beach will head to Malibu to take on Pepperdine.
The Big West Challenge will be hosted by Long Beach State on March 25-26 as all seven conference schools will head to Rosie's Dog Beach for a two-day event that consists of 21 total matches.
The Beach hits the road for a three-day Northern California trip to end March and begin April. In that span, they will play two matches at San Jose State, two at Cal, and two at Stanford before returning home to take on Pepperdine on April 7 at 1:00 p.m.
In the penultimate week of the regular season, LBSU will head to Arizona for matchups with Stephen F. Austin, Southern Miss, Grand Canyon, and the host Wildcats.
The last weekend of the regular season will be a tri-dual at the LBSU Sand Courts on April 23 before the team heads to San Luis Obispo, Calif. for the Big West Tournament on Apr. 29-30.
The NCAA Championships will be held in Gulf Shores, Alabama beginning on May 3 with a newly expanded field of 16 teams.
Overall, 14 of the matches for the upcoming season will be against teams that finished the 2021 season in the AVCA Top 25, including four against the top three teams.
