Two With Women’s Water Polo Ties Seeking To Secure Olympic Place

Inbar Geva and Christina Kotsia are participating in the FINA Olympic Qualification Tournament.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Olympic dreams have been renewed for many sports, including women's water polo who have one current and one former player representing their countries in the FINA Olympic Qualification tournament running January 19-24 in Trieste, Italy.
A former first-team All-Big West selection and No. 4 all-time in goals scored at Long Beach State, Christina Kotsia is currently playing for Greece, and goalkeeper Inbar Geva is playing for Israel. Geva is a transfer from St. Francis who will have four seasons of eligibility with Long Beach State once she arrives on campus.
Greece and Israel are two of eight teams who are looking to capture the final two spots for the rescheduled 2021 Olympic Games. The top team from each of the two groups competing in Italy will join the eight squads which have already secured their spot for Tokyo: USA, Spain, Canada, Australia, Russia, South Africa, China and Japan.
