ACWPC Announces Women’s All-Academic Awards

Long Beach State once again earned team honors, while a new high of 15 student-athletes were recognized.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the recipients of All-Academic Recognition following the conclusion of the spring semester, and Long Beach State saw a new high of honorees following the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

                Long Beach State once again garnered team recognition, as the program's 3.39 team GPA was well over the 3.00 minimum standard merit distinction.

                Additionally, 15 different student-athletes received recognition in one of the three tiers as announced by the ACWPC.

                In the highest, "Outstanding" level, Long Beach State had its most honorees with seven student-athletes recording a GPA of 3.71 or above in Olivia Grim, Carter Hawkins, Katelyn Johnson, Elan Kotanchyan, Sierra May, Jamie Oberman and Isabel Riley.

                In the "Superior" (3.41-3.70) tier, Katie Dill, Kate Green-Jones, Orsi Hertzka, Ariana Honka, and Gabriella Matafora-Adams all were recognized, while Paige Bennet, Aliki Patra and Pamela Solano rounded out the honorees from the Beach, all earning "Excellent" recognition with a GPA higher than 3.20.
