Women’s Tennis Hosts Memphis, Youngstown State This Week

The Beach will play the Tigers on Tuesday and the Penguins on Friday
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State continues its home stretch with a pair of non-conference contests this week as the Beach host Memphis on Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m., before taking on Youngstown State on Friday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at Rhodes Tennis Center.
The Beach (7-4) are coming off of a solid 6-1 victory over Big West Conference foe Cal State Fullerton last week. Long Beach State was solid in that match as the Beach won each contest in two sets with the exception of the battle at No. 2, which went three sets.
Memphis brings a 7-4 record in to the match against Long Beach State as the Tigers are riding a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven contests.
Youngstown State is 3-8 on the year and has lost its last two matches by scores of 5-2 to Eastern Michigan and UC Riverside. The Penguins have dropped six of their last seven contests, with their lone win coming against Niagara in a 4-0 sweep.
At No. 1 for LBSU Natalia Munoz and Zara Lennon have posted a 6-2 record and have won their last four matches. Meanwhile, Emma Bardet and Wiktoria Rutkowska boast a 6-1 record at No. 1 as they have won nine of their last 10 matches.
