
Women’s Golf Finishes Rebel Beach Intercollegiate In Fifth

Long Beach State finished in the top half of the field after the team’s best round of the tournament Tuesday.
LAS VEGAS – With birdies on four of her final six holes, sophomore Hannah Ko finished with a five-under 67 on Tuesday, the best round of the tournament for Long Beach State to lead the Beach to a fifth-place finish at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate.
Ko's strong round Tuesday helped the sophomore push into a tie for 11th place with a three-round score of 218, two-over par after three rounds. Senior Holland Shourds was next, bouncing back from her high round of the tournament in the second round with a one-over par 73, finishing +7 at 223 overall.
Maria Davis was four strokes back of Shourds in a tie for 34th, while Euna Pak and Hunter Pate each finished an additional stroke back.
Among Long Beach State's individuals, sophomore Morgan Polley was the top finisher, tied for 43rd overall at 230, while freshman Vanessa Richani and Chloe Carraway scored 234 and 235 respectively for the tournament.
No. 3 USC won the team championship by 22 strokes, placing 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th overall, while Fresno State, New Mexico, BYU and Long Beach State rounded out the Top 5, three strokes away from placing in front of the Lobos. Co-Hosts UNLV finished in in 9th place overall, while Black and Blue Rivals UC Irvine placed 10th.
Long Beach State will have a quick turnaround for their next hosting duties, returning to Southern California and hosting the Gold Rush on Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25 at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.
