Women’s Beach & Indoor Alumni Festivities Set for this Weekend

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State Volleyball has a full weekend of events planned beginning Friday, February 21 and running through Sunday, February 23.
LBSU will kick off the weekend with an indoor volleyball banquet luncheon on Friday, February 21, at Old Ranch Country Club from 12 p.m.- 3 p.m. Following the luncheon, the 1994 team, which was the first-ever women's volleyball team to take action inside the Walter Pyramid, will be recognized at the Men's Volleyball game versus Westcliff at 7 p.m. in a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Walter Pyramid.
The Beach team will begin Saturday's festivities with an alumni, family, friends, and fans Fours Tournament at 11 a.m. held at the LBSU Sand Courts. Following the Fours Tournament, a barbecue with all participants as well as the Black and Gold Scrimmage featuring the 2020 Beach Volleyball team, will take place from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday's events will wrap up with the indoor alumni volleyball match from 4- 6 p.m. in the Gold Mine Gym which is located in the Kinesiology building.
The alumni weekend will conclude Sunday, February 23 at 10 a.m. with a mother-daughter brunch at Claire's at the Museum.
This fun-filled weekend will precede the Beach Volleyball season opener which takes place on Wednesday, February 26 against Vanguard at 10 a.m. and Concordia at 2 p.m. at the
LBSU Sand Courts.
