Emma Bardet Named Big West Tennis Player Of The Week

Bardet had a perfect 5-0 record at the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Sophomore Emma Bardet was named the Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week, earning the first award of the spring after posting a perfect 5-0 mark at the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational.
In her three singles wins at the No. 2 flight, she dropped just six games total and won all three matches in straight sets. She earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory against CSUN's Jacquie Tana against a conference opponent.
Bardet dropped just one game against Portland's Neli Sunjic in a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. She also cruised to a 6-1, 6-1, win over Portland State's Nina Nikitovic.
Doubles was a success as well for Bardet as she and partner Wiktoria Rutkowska notched a pair of wins. The tandem blanked Portland's Emily Soares and Laura Okazaki, 6-0. They also defeated CSUN's Ekaterina Repina and Tan by a 6-3 score.
Long Beach State starts dual play in two weeks, traveling to face USC in Los Angeles February 1 before returning to the Rhodes Tennis Center on February 2 for conference match against UC Davis.
