Richiani, Polley Finish In Top 10 At Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate

Long Beach State’s trio of golfers battled high winds Sunday in the final round.
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Battling steady winds of 25 miles per hour with gusts of over 40, the trio of individuals from Long Beach State Women's Golf still finished well, placing two in the Top 10 after the final day at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate.
Final Scores
Two-over par was the best round of the day in a challenging day at The Classic Club. Freshman Vanessa Richiani had a small slip in the standings but still finished in fifth place overall after a final day 82.
She was joined in the top ten by sophomore Morgan Polley who made one of the biggest moves of the day. Polley's five-over par 77 was one of the better rounds of the day and lifter the sophomore 14 places into a tie for 7th overall.
Freshman Chloe Carraway finished the tournament with a 11-over par 83 to conclude her first collegiate tournament in a tie for 41st place.
Richiani and Polley were the top two finishers from Big West schools in a field that included Cal Poly, Hawai'i, UC Riverside and CSUN.
The team is back in action on October 8 and 9, traveling to Sammamish, Wash. to complete in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational hosted by Washington.
