
Women’s Golf Finishes Opening Day In Tie For 13th At Couer d’Alene Resort Invitational

COUER D'ALENE, Idaho – Sophomore Hannah Ko and senior Holland Shourds finished with identical scores Monday while leading the Beach in the opening day of the Couer d'Alene Resort Invitational. The Beach closed the first day in a tie for 13th after two rounds.
Ko and Shourds were five-over on the par 71 course after the opening round, but each shaved off two strokes in the second round to finish eight-over for the day, tied for 39th overall.
Sophomore Hunter Pate also followed up with a second round of 74 to finish 9-over for the day. Euna Pak was 11-over after two rounds, while freshman Khameryn Utu started her collegiate career with rounds of 78 and 77 in the opening day in Couer d'Alene.
Long Beach State is scheduled to compete in the final round Tuesday after only completing a pair of rounds in their first tournament of the year at the Minnesota Invitational. The Beach enters Tuesday tied for 13th out of 16 teams, and are currently only two strokes behind UC Irvine, the only other Big West school in the field. Hosts Gonzaga lead the tournament after two rounds.
