Men’s Water Polo Prepares For Four Games At Inland Empire Classic

No. 7 Long Beach State will play Whittier College and Concordia on Saturday then take on No. 8 Pepperdine and Air Force on Sunday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a 3-1 weekend at the Triton Invitational, No. 7 Long Beach State heads back on the road to continue tournament play at the Inland Empire Classic co-hosted by Claremont, Redlands and La Verne.
The Beach will face Whittier College (2-2) at CMS on Saturday morning at 10:20 a.m. The second match of the day will take place at La Verne against Concordia (1-4) at 1:20 p.m. Sunday morning the Beach will take on GCC Rival Pepperdine (3-1) at 9 a.m. in the Redlands. They will finish up their last match of the tournament against Air Force (3-1) at 2:30 p.m.
Through the first four games of the season Senior Austin Stewart and Sophomore Theodoros Pateros lead Long Beach State with nine total goals. Senior Johnathan Wong and Sophomore Matt Morris are tied for second on the team with seven goals each.
In the previous meeting with GCC rival Pepperdine, Marwan Darwish came up huge with 15 saves for the win (5-4).
