No. 10 Long Beach State Cruises To 4-1 Win Over No. 19 Saint Mary’s On Senior Day

Four seniors earn wins in their final regular season home match.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The No. 10 Long Beach State beach volleyball team turned in a solid performance on Tuesday afternoon at the LBSU Sand Courts to defeat No. 19 Saint Mary's, 4-1.
Prior to the match, Long Beach State (18-7) recognized its five seniors in Zoi Konstantopoulou, Megan Kruidhof, Kendra Koelsch, Alexis Patterson, and Allie Loitz.
The seniors each picked up a win at their respective flights as Konstantopoulou, who was paired with Nicci Reinking at the top flight led the way with a 21-12, 21-19 victory over Saint Mary's top pair.
Kruidhof and Mari Molina picked up a pair of dominating wins at No. 2 as the Beach duo won by scores of 21-8, 21-13.
Koelsch and Kenzie Holtz defeated Sienna Young and Crash Parker 21-14, 21-16, while Patterson and Tyler Spriggs came away with a convincing 21-9, 21-16 win at No. 5.
The lone set the Beach dropped was a battle as the No. 4 duo of Claire Newlander and Sydney Stevens took Boo Laird and Chandler Cowell to three sets before falling 17-21, 21-17, 15-13.
Long Beach State closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 20 against No. 15 Grand Canyon and No. 1 UCLA in Westwood at noon and 3 p.m., respectively.
