Long Beach State Set To Host 25th Annual Beach Invitational and Pacific Coast Invitational at Jack Rose Track

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State begins an exciting week of Track and Field action at the Jack Rose Track starting Thursday, hosting the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and will continue Friday and Saturday with the 25th Annual Beach Invitational.
The Beach Invitational, now in its 25th year, will feature 2,356 different athletes representing 210 different institutions including some of the best track and field athletes in the world. LBSU will have majority of the team competing in the meet.
Additionally, some of the top competitors in the country and the world will be participating in the open portions of the field events as the Beach Invitational continues to draw top competition.
The 2019 Pacific Coast Intercollegiate meet enters its fourth year as the warmup to the Beach Invitational at Jack Rose Track. Long Beach State will have over 60 athletes competing in Thursday's competition. Field events will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the women's javelin and men's hammer throw, while the track events are scheduled to begin at 1:20 p.m. with the women's 4x100m relay.
LBSU will be sending a few distance runners to the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific on Friday, April 19th. Gabe Simpson will open up for the Beach in the 3,000m steeplechase scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Freshman Gavin Korby and Tyler Spencer will run in the 5,000m beginning at 5:40 p.m.
Competition at the Jack Rose Track will begin at 9:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Friday-Saturday. Tickets are general admission and can be purchased at the gate, at the Long Beach State box office, or online here at longbeachstate.com.
