Women’s Golf Opens Big West Championship Monday in Moorpark

Defending champion Long Beach State will be the No. 2 seed at the 2019 Big West Women’s Golf Championship this week at Moorpark Country Club. The three-day, 54-hole event will tee off for the Beach at 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
MOORPARK, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf will look to defend its title this week at the 2019 Big West Championship at Moorpark Country Club. LBSU will be the No. 2 seed for the event, and will tee off with top-seeded UC Davis at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. That will kick off a three-day event that will conclude with the final round on Wednesday.
Long Beach State send out a lineup that features junior Maria Davis at the top, followed by junior Cara Barker, senior Holland Shourds, senior Haley Tygret and junior Euna Pak.
The Beach have three Top 5 finishes and seven Top 10 finishes in nine events this season. Long Beach State had one of its best performances of the season in its last tournament, taking sixth in a stacked field at the Briar's Creek Invitational in South Carolina. Davis has been the top finisher in each of the last three tournaments for the Beach.
