Women’s Golf Hosts Black & Blue Rivalry Match Thursday

Long Beach State women’s golf will take on UC Irvine in match play competition on Thursday at Old Ranch Country Club. The action will tee off at 1:30 p.m. with two of the six pairings getting started. This is the final tune-up before the Big West Championships Apr. 15-17.
SEAL BEACH, Calif. – Beach Women's Golf will get its final tune-up prior to next week's Big West Championships on Thursday, playing a Black & Blue Rivalry match against UC Irvine at Old Ranch Country Club.
Each team will have six players going head to head under match play scoring rules. Action will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the first group beginning their 18 holes of play. There will be three foursomes with two players from each team going head to head.
In the first group at 1:30, Hannah Ko will be matched with Sienna Lyford and Maria Davis will go up against Cameron Lee. In the second group, which tees off at 1:40, Cara Barker will play against Madison Riggs and Euna Pak will be matched with Sabrina Li. The final group tees off at 1:50 p.m. as Haley Tygret will play against Janet Yeo and Holland Shourds will be head-to-head with Angela Bagasbas.
The last time these teams played a head-to-head match on Apr. 9, 2018 at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine. LBSU came out victorious with the pair of Tygret and Shourds leading the way. The Beach has won its rivalry match with UC Irvine in each of the last five years.
