Junior Eirini Patras was named Big West Player of The Week after stellar goalkeeping on Thursday night.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior Eirini Patras wins the Big West Player of the Week as she becomes the second Long Beach State women's water polo player to do so this year. The Big West Player of the Week has now gone to a Long Beach State women's water polo player for two consecutive weeks with freshman Sarah Barker winning last week.
Patras claims the award based on her stellar goalkeeping against No. 17 Princeton. Patras only allowed two goals in the 8-2 victory the Beach posted. In addition, Patras also had 16 saves on the night, which ties her career best. The 16 saves is also tied for third most in LBSU history for most saves in a match.
Patras and the Beach will be back in action tonight against Brown at 7 p.m. at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.
