The Beach will host San Diego before playing two important league matches.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State women's tennis readies for a busy week, hosting the twice rescheduled match with San Diego on Thursday before taking on Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly in Big West competition.

Long Beach State (6-0, 2-0 Big West) is coming off of a successful trip to the Bay Area, where the Beach piled up two more wins coming against San Francisco and Saint Mary's.

Following the two wins, Long Beach State is now winning 70% of their dual matches in singles and nearly as many in doubles, having gone 11-5 so far in the team's six dual matches.

San Diego (4-2) and Long Beach State will hope the third time is a charm to complete their dual which has twice been washed out, first on February 2 and again on February 10. The two teams split top honors at the Beach Tennis Invitational held January 18-20, with Solymar Colling taking the singles championship while Wiktoria Rutkowska and Dominque Meyer won the doubles championship.

The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the Rhodes Tennis Center.

The Beach will then resume Big West Conference play with two matches on the weekend. LBSU is 2-0 so far on the year while Cal State Fullerton (3-2, 1-0 Big West) is also unbeaten in league play. The Titans play host to the Beach at 11 a.m. on March 2.

Returning to the Rhodes Tennis Center on Sunday, Long Beach State hosts Cal Poly (3-5, 0-1 Big West) at 11 a.m. to complete the busy weekend. Rutkowska has had a strong start to conference play, going 2-0 in singles as part of a 4-2 start at No. 1 for the Beach, with one of her two losses coming to a nationally ranked player.

Junior Natalia Munoz has also played well in the spring season, posting a team-best 5-1 record in dual matches in both singles and in doubles with Lalita Devarakonda.

Admission is free to all matches held at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
