Freshman Hunter Pate recorded a Hole in One on the 7th hole during her final round on Tuesday at the Rebel Beach Invitational in Las Vegas. The Beach finished 11th as a team and had the top two individual finishers in the event.
LAS VEGAS – Freshman Hunter Pate recorded a Hole in One on the Par-3 No. 7 during her final round on Tuesday, highlighting action on the final day of competition at the Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Country Club. Long Beach State finished 11th in a crowded field, just one shot back of eighth place and two shots back of seventh.
Tuesday's action included the conclusion of round two, which was suspended on Monday due to darkness, and all of round three. Outside of Pate's ace, junior Euna Pak was LBSU's top finisher for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 28th. Her 1-over round of 73 matched senior Cara Barker's first-round 73 as the Beach's low rounds for the week. Junior Maria Davis had LBSU's best final round, posting a 4-over 76 on the final 18 holes.
Among individuals, Long Beach State had the top two finishers, with freshman Hannah Ko finishing in a tie for 28th along with Pak. Senior Haley Tygret was second among individuals and in a tie for 39th on the player leaderboard.
Long Beach State will be back in action on Feb. 25-26 at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, hosting The Gold Rush.
