Beach Tennis Heads to CSUN Fall Tournament Starting Friday

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The Beach will be playing its final tournament of the 2019 calendar year this weekend, competing at the CSUN Fall Tournament. Long Beach State will send four players to the event: Carlota Casasampere, Lalita Devarakonda, Sadaf Sadeghvaziri, and Wiktoria Rutkowska.

Sedeghvaziri and Rutkowska will each be in the Singles A flight this weekend, playing their opening round matches on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Sadeghvaziri will take on Jelena Lukic from Portland and Rutkowska will play Shir Azran from Fresno State. In Flight B, Casasampere will square off against Halla Badwy of North Texas while Devarakonda opens with Lucy Octave from Utah State.

In doubles play, Rutkowska/Casasampere will partner up in Flight A, taking on Heczey/Badwy from North Texas on Friday at 10 a.m. In Flight B of doubles, Devarakonda/Sadeghvaziri will partner up to face the team of Azran/Lawson from Fresno State.

Both singles brackets will be 16-player competitions with a pair of rounds being played on Saturday. The doubles draws are 8-team draws with one round each day. Friday's action begins with doubles play at 10 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday's action will get going at 9 a.m.
