The Beach will play the Waves for a Noon matchup in Malibu on Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif.—No. 8 Long Beach State (14-11) will visit No. 6 Pepperdine (20-7) on Saturday for a 12 p.m. matchup in Malibu, Calif.
Long Beach State is coming off a busy week playing four teams going 2-2. They took down UC San Diego, 12-10, and Long Beach City College, 14-7, but lost close games to Pacific, 13-12, and Cal, 11-10, in overtime.
Senior Austin Stewart leads the Beach in three categories—goals with 53, assists with 21, and steals with 33. Stewart is followed by Matt Morris who has 40 goals and then Garrett Zaan and Rafael Real Vergara who each have 35 goals each on the season.
Pepperdine finished the weekend with two victories in their first ever Pepperdine Invite. The Waves defeated Cal Lutheran 15-8 and Concordia Irvine 19-8. The Waves were led by Marko Asic and Balazc Kosa who had eight and seven goals on the day.
