Beach Tennis Sends Four to ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego

Long Beach State will have four tennis players competing at the ITA Southwest Regionals this weekend in San Diego. Emma Bardet, Zara Lennon, Natalia Munoz and Wiktoria Rutkowska will head down to the 619 to represent the Beach starting on Thursday morning.
SAN DIEGO – Long Beach State will have four women's tennis players competing this weekend at the ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego. Emma Bardet, Zara Lennon, Natalia Munoz and Wiktoria Rutkowska will each compete in both singles and doubles action at the event, which starts on Thursday morning.

Doubles action will be up first at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Munoz and Lennon will be paired together and they received a first-round bye in the 64-team doubles draw. Elsewhere in the bracket, Bardet/Rutkowska will play their first-round match at 9 a.m. against Kukaras/Morales from San Diego.

In singles play, Rutkowska will start with a first-round bye for the Beach in the 128-player draw. Her first match in the second round will be played at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lennon's opening match will be against Jacqueline Tsodikova of UCI at 9 a.m. Munoz will be playing at the same time, facing off with LMU's Cristina Flaquer. Finally, Bardet's first-round singles match will start at around 10 a.m., going up against Sabrina Boever from Grand Canyon.

There will be 16 teams competing in this year's regional along with the Beach and hosts San Diego and San Diego State; Arizona, Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, USC, and UCLA.
