Beach in Fourth After First Two Rounds of Coeur D’Alene Collegiate

Junior Maria Davis led the Beach with a combined score of 1-over through the opening two rounds of the Coeur D’Alene Collegiate in Idaho.
COUER D'ALENE, ID -- Long Beach State opened the Coeur D'Alene Resort Collegiate on Monday, playing the first two rounds of the 18-team competition. Junior Maria Davis led Long Beach State with an overall score of 143 on the day, putting her at 1-under for the tournament and a spot in the Top 10 of the leaderboard.
Davis was one of just seven golfers to score under par in the opening round, shooting a 1-under 70 her first time through the course. She followed that up with a 73 in her second round to sit in a tie for ninth with 18 holes to play tomorrow.
Freshman Hunter Pate continued her solid play, posting consecutive rounds of 72 on Monday to sit at 2-over and in a tie for 15th on the leaderboard. Hannah Ko and Holland Shourds each posted identical scores today with a 73 in round one and a 75 in round two.
Long Beach State is currently tied with Washington State in fourth place with combined score of 12-over through two rounds. LBSU is just a shot behind BYU in third place and two shots back of San Jose State for second, as Illinois has a commanding 18-shot lead on the field.
Play will resume with Tuesday's final round, beginning with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. PT.
