LBSU had a balanced day on the course as all seven competitors were within three shots of one another, led by freshman Hunter Pate’s round of 73 playing as an individual.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Long Beach State women's golf shaved 11 shots off yesterday's team total to move up in the team standings at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Tuesday. LBSU currently sits in ninth place heading into Wednesday's final round.
LBSU's best score of the day came from freshman Hunter Pate, who is playing as an individual this week. Her 1-over 73 matched her score from Monday and moved her into a tie for eighth on the leaderboard. She's tied there with teammate Euna Pak, who shot a round of 75 on Tuesday.
In the lineup, Long Beach State had three golfers shoot a 74 in round two, including junior Maria Davis, who moved into a tie for 19th place on the overall leaderboard. Senior Haley Tygret and freshman Hannah Ko were the others who shot 2-over on the day. Tygret's first nine was an active one, as she recorded just two pars in the first half of her round. After the turn, she was able to settle in and record just a birdie on the 4th hole to go 1-under over her second nine.
The competition will conclude on Wednesday with the third and final round in Fort Collins. Long Beach State will begin action at 7:30 a.m. PT as Pak will be the first to tee it up.
