Softball To Open Postseason Against Ole Miss At Tempe Regional

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State softball will make its 24th NCAA postseason appearance, opening the Tempe Regional on Friday, May 18 against Ole Miss. The game will be broadcast live at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
Arizona State will serve as hosts for the Tempe Regional, and will face New Mexico State to round out the four teams in the regional. The regional is a double-elimination tournament, and starts on Friday, May 18 and will run through Sunday, May 20 or Monday, May 21 if necessary.
No. 20 Long Beach State enters the postseason with a 42-12 overall record, the sixth-most wins in school history, earning an at-large selection into the NCAA Tournament. The Beach is making their seventh postseason appearance under Kim Sowder, and are searching for their sixth Women's College World Series appearance.
