
No. 14 Long Beach State Remains Undefeated At Home

Long Beach, Calif. - Seven players scored as No. 14 Long Beach State dominated Brown 10-4 Thursday afternoon to remain undefeated at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.
Senior Alexandra Massier got the Beach out to a fast start scoring back-to-back goals to give LBSU an early 2-0 lead.
The Beach (10-11) wasn't done there as senior Virginia Smith and freshman Julia Silvestri scored one and two goals respectively to take a 5-0 lead after the first quarter.
Marilia Eleni Mimidi and Paige Bennett kept the scoring going as LBSU took a 7-0 lead with 1:57 remaining in the first half. Emily Garczynski pushed the Beach's lead to 8-0 with 50 seconds remaining.
Brown (8-11) scored its first goal of the match with 24 seconds remaining in the half.
In the second half with a comfortable lead, the Beach rotated more players in and Brown cut the lead to 8-2 with 4:43 remaining.
Mimidi's second goal of the match gave the Beach a 9-2 lead and Luiza Moraes lone goal gave LBSU a 10-2 lead heading into the final period.
Brown outscored the Beach 2-0 in the period, but LBSU held on for the win to set up a big conference match against No. 19 Cal State Northridge Saturday.
