No. 5 Beach Volleyball To Play Five Matches This Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Fresh off of a win against Florida State to prompt a move into the Top 5, No. 5 Long Beach State will play five dual matches on Thursday and Friday of this week.
The Beach will host a tri-dual at the LBSU Sand Courts on Thursday in the first action of the week for the team. Long Beach State will start the day against No. 19 Washington at 11 a.m., and then following a neutral match between the Huskies and Vanguard, LBSU will close the day against Vanguard in a match scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The next day, Long Beach State will head to Irvine for the second time this year, participating in multiple matches at Irvine Valley College. The Beach will play Irvine Valley in an exhibition at 10 a.m., before playing Nebraska at 1 p.m. and Concordia at 2 p.m.
Anete Brinke and Sasha Karelov moved up to the top flight for Long Beach State's last two matches, including against the Seminoles, and are now 8-0 on the season while competing in every match for the Beach. Also unbeaten this season in multiple matches are senior Hannah Matt and freshman Marisa Rasmey, as the duo has gone 7-0 at No. 5 this season.
Both pars went 2-0 last Thursday against TCU and Florida State, as did Hailey Harward and Kristyna Adamcikova, who played at No. 3 and earned a pair of wins to improve to 6-2 on the year. Nele Barber and Rachel Nieto played at No. 2 in LBSU's last matches, while Zoi Konstantopoulou and Nicci Reinking have posted a 5-2 record at No. 4, the most common team to play there.
