Taylor Rowland Named Big West Player of the Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Taylor Rowland cashed in 14 RBI over five games as No. 22 Long Beach State went 5-0 last week, earning Big West Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Monday.
Rowland hit .625 over five games, and had multiple RBI in four straight games. After driving in a pair of runs against Monmouth on Wednesday, Rowland then hit .900 (9-for-1) with three doubles, two home runs, a walk and a sacrifice fly over three games at the LMU Invitational.
Rowland went 4-for-4 from the plate with four RBI to cap a comeback win over Colgate on Saturday, and then outdid herself on Sunday, driving in five, including a go-ahead grand slam against the hosts Loyola Marymount to finish an unbeaten week for Long Beach State.
Rowland becomes the third different LBSU field player to be named Big West Player of the Week, joining Nichole Fry and Naomi Hernandez in the honor.
