No. 8 Long Beach State in search of extending win streak to four with games against No. 15 LMU on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and No. 11 UC Irvine on Friday at 7 p.m.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Beach gained two conference victories this past weekend over No. 5 Pacific and No. 20 San Jose State. The Beach (9-11, 2-2 GCC) will now look to grab another conference win against Golden Coast foe UC Irvine (8-13, 1-3 GCC) and a non-conference win against LMU (12-12, 5-2 WWPA). With wins against UCI and LMU, LBSU can extend their win streak from four and tie their largest win streak of the season. Long Beach State will look to make a push and end strong for the Golden Coast Conference Tournament that is around the corner.

Long Beach State is coming off their first pair of conference victories on the season, including a thrilling OT victory against Pacific. The Beach overpowered the Tigers in overtime to come out with their first conference victory of the season, in addition to handing the Pacific their first conference loss. Junior Austin Stewart leads the Beach with 40 goals on the season and is currently still in the hunt to overpass his last year total of goals scored with 52.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

The Lions have been performing well in their conference schedule having a record of 5-2, but haven't been able to strike against non-conference opponents as successfully, with a record of 7-10. LMU is led by their lead utility player in Blazo Mitrovic who leads the Lions with 65 goals.

SERIES RECORD vs. LMU

The Beach leads the all-time series against the Lions with a 26-11 record, in addition to the Beach winning the last three match ups between the two programs. The last victory the Beach had against LMU dates back to the 2017 season where they beat the Lions 20-6. In their last three matchups, the Beach have won by an average margin of eight goals per contest.

SCOUTING THE ANTEATERS

The Anteaters have a similar record to the Beach, carrying an 8-13 mark overall, with just one win in conference play coming against San Jose State. UCI is led by their utility player in Jason Evezard who has 54 goals on the season.

SERIES vs. UC IRVINE

The last three matchups against the two programs have been decided by a single goal each time. The Beach emerged victorious in their first battle this season with a score of 9-8 in sudden death. Last year the Beach fell to the Anteaters in the opening game of the GCC tournament by the same exact score of 9-8. Before the loss, the Beach had closed out the season against UC Irvine with a win, 8-7.
