Long Beach, Calif. -
Senior Nick Faust was selected to the NABC All-District 9 First-Team honoring the Top 5 players from the Big West and West Coast Conference as picked by the member coaches of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Faust led the Big West in scoring in conference play, averaging 18.4 points per game in league while ranking the Big West's top 10 in rebounding (6.4), steals (1.6) and 3-pointers made (2.3) per game.
Long Beach State's leading scorer in 2015-16, Faust averaged 17.4 points per game for the Beach, and led the 49ers in scoring on 22 occasions, scored in double-figures in 33 of 35 games on the season, and twice scored 30 or points in a game, including a career-high 34 points at UC Santa Barbara.
Faust joined Casper Ware and Donovan Morris as the only Long Beach State players to have scored multiple 30-point games under Dan Monson.
Additionally, Faust's 609 points over the course of the season were the seventh-most in school history, making an incredible impact in his one season at the Beach. Faust led Long Beach State in scoring, rebounding, and steals in 2015-16 while averaging 2.2 assists per game and making 17 blocks.
Faust's selection extends a string of seven straight seasons that the Beach has had at least one player named to the first or second team, a list limited to ten players. Faust also is the first first-team selection since James Ennis following the 2012-13 campaign.
