LBSU Men's Volleyball Defeats Alberta, 3-2

EDMONTON, Alberta - The Long Beach State men's volleyball team came back from a 2-1 deficit to beat the University of Alberta, 25-22, 20-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-10, in an exhibition match Thursday afternoon at the Saville Community Sports Centre.
Alberta is ranked second in CIS and is undefeated in conference play. The Golden Bears are also the two-time defending national champions.
LBSU hit an impressive .433 as it committed just 10 errors on 127 swings.
The freshman duo of Kyle Ensing and TJ DeFalco led the Beach as they combined for 44 of the team's 65 kills. DeFalco registered 24 kills and just three errors on 38 swings for a .552 clip. Ensing added 20 kills on .500 hitting (20-1-38).
Junior Amir Lugo-Rodriguez contributed nine kills (.642), while senior Taylor Gregory had six. Gregory also had a team-best three aces.
Long Beach State will have a couple days off before its second exhibition match against the Golden Bears on Saturday, Jan. 2. First serve is set for 7 p.m. (PST).
