Jonny Hogan Tied For First With Career-Low 65 At Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational

LAHAINA, Maui - Long Beach State junior Jonny Hogan fired a career-low six-under-par 65 in Friday's opening round of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational at Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club to tie for first-place.
LBSU finished day one in ninth with a team score of 288.
Thirteenth-ranked Oklahoma leads the field of 19 teams at eight-under 276 as the Sooners hold a three-shot lead over second-place North Carolina State (-5) and six strokes over tournament host Hawai'i (-2) in third.
Hogan shares the lead with the Sooners' Rylee Reinertson as both golfers lead the field of 102 players by one shot. The Solvang, Calif. native posted a bogey-free round, posting six birdies and 12 pars.
Senior Daniel Chian recorded a one-under 70, tying for 18th.
Senior Michael Chen carded a 75 to tie for 62nd, while freshman Spencer Koch tied for 84th after shooting a 78.
Senior Kevin Lee is tied for 91st at nine-over 80.
Second round play continues on Saturday morning with a 10:30 a.m. (PST) shotgun start, with the 49ers paired with Ball State, Gonzaga and Indiana.
