LBSU Closes Out Season At NCAA West Regional

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Long Beach State men's and women's cross country teams closed out the 2015 season on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA West Regional at Jefferson Park Golf Course.
The men's team finished in 23rd place (30 teams) with 692 points, while the women placed 30th (35 teams) with 863 points.
Washington captured the men's team title with 63 points as the Huskies won by 20 points over second-place Stanford with 83 points. On the women's side, Oregon claimed the team title with 79 points as the Ducks edged second-place Boise State by one point.
Sam Bautista was the top runner for the 49ers, finishing in 91st with a 10K time of 32:55.3.
Cameron Ford placed 138th (34:01.6), followed by Andres Barragan in 149th (34:13.0) and Kevin Ramirez in 161st (34:41.2).
Tim Bergstrom finished in 169th (34:52.7), Emilio Nunez in 181st (35:28.1) and Angel Franco in 186th (35:38.2).
Edward Cheserek of Oregon won the men's 10K race with a time of 30:43.2, leading the field of 205 runners by 11 seconds.
On the women's side, Kathleen Dunne led the way for the 49ers, finishing in 113th with a 6K time of 22:24.6.
Pauline Mandel placed 176th (23:18.7), followed by Ashley Carrera in 190th (23:33.5), Mikayla Florez in 196th (23:39.8), Valeria Soto in 206th (23:51.1) and Janet Salazar in 212th (23:56.6).
Allie Ostrander of Boise State captured the women's individual title with a time of 20:10.9, leading the field of 242 runners by 22 seconds.
