IRVINE, Calif. - The Long Beach State track & field team claimed the men's and women's Big West Challenge Cup titles Friday evening at Anteater Stadium.

The men racked up 194.5 points to win the quad meet for the seventh-straight year, while the women finished first with 194 points. LBSU posted individual victories in 13 different events.

Willie Alexander led the way as a double-winner in the long jump (24-07.75) and triple jump (47-09.75).

The men also dominated the throwing events with Jacob Fraser taking top honors in the shot put at 57-01.5. Fraser added a second-place showing in the discus, finishing behind teammate Jason Harrell, who claimed the title with a toss of 177-05.

In his first meet of the season, Adam Bianchessi came in first in the javelin with a toss of 199-11. Kody Robison made it a one-two finish for The Beach with a mark of 178-04. Robison added a runner-up performance in the hammer (191-02).

On the track, Michael Perez-Rogers established a personal and meet-record 46.77 to win the 400m. That time ties him for 10th in school history.

Dylan McCloskey finished ahead of the pack in the 200m, clocking in at 21.78 seconds. McCloskey, Perez-Rogers, Jahmani Lockett and Cameron Glasgow also closed out the meet with a triumph in the 4x400 where they notched a meet-record 3:10.75.

Emily Cooper paced the women with a victory in the 100m (11.93), while she also teamed up with Jasmine Askew, Saedra Wright and Alex Kruthers to post a meet-record 3:43.86 to win the 4x400 relay.

Kayla Goosby took home the 200m title with a lifetime-best 24.36, which also ranks 10th in program history.

Fatima Vergara picked up an individual victory in the hammer throw at 173-10, while Kayla Kamaka had her third first-place showing of the season, clearing 12-07.5 in the pole vault.

Long Beach State also established a number of other personal records on Friday night. Alex Kruthers registered a lifetime-best 55.25 to place second in the 400m. That mark puts her at No. 9 on the LBSU all-time list.

Goosby, Cooper, Kruthers and Saedra Wright also combined to run the 49ers' ninth-fastest 4x100 relay, clocking in at 46.09.

Chaylene Bruggeman notched a personal-best 166-08 to take fourth in the hammer, coming in behind teammate Marina Shelton (170-08) who was third.

Jordan Agnew was Long Beach State's top finisher in the long jump with a season-best 18-01.75 (3rd). Bruggeman added a personal-record 17-11.5 to tie for sixth.

Chris Low clocked in with a lifetime-best 3:52.7 to place third in the men's 1500, while McCloskey ran a personal-record 10.84 to finish second in the 100m.

Climonte Blackman crossed the finish line in a lifetime-best 1:53.79 to place fifth in the 800m.

LBSU has a busy week on tap as it heads to the Mt. SAC Multis (April 16-17) and the Mt. SAC Relays (April 17-18), before hosting the 20th annual Beach Invitational, April 18-19.
