49er Track & Field Concludes Action at Husky Classic

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Long Beach State track & field team wrapped up action at the Husky Classic Saturday at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor stadium.
Koree Hines finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 8.37 seconds, which qualified him for the finals where he took first in his heat and third overall. Hines recorded a season-best 8.14 in his second run of the day.
Chris Enriquez registered a personal-record 8:18.01 in the 3000m, which ranks second in school history.
Jacob Fraser also improved his lifetime best in the shot put as he placed ninth with a toss of 54-02.5.
Alex Kruthers had a top-10 showing in the women's 400m, finishing sixth in a lifetime-best 56.84. That mark ranks sixth on the 49er indoor all-time list.
Emily Cooper advanced to the 60m finals after clocking in with a season-best 7.73 seconds to win her heat in the prelims. Cooper would go on to take sixth in the finals (7.78).
In the 800m, Caitlin Turner registered the seventh-fastest mark in indoor school history at 2:16. She finished 28th overall. Xitlali Avila was also 12th in the mile (5:18.38).
Long Beach State returns to Dempsey Indoor on Sunday, Feb. 16, for the UW Open.
