Softball Heads South for San DIego State Classic I

The 49er softball team (7-6) will head to America's Finest City, San Diego, this weekend to play in the San Diego State Classic I where they will play five games in three days.
The team first faces Boise State on Friday at 4:30 pm and then San Diego State at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, LBSU will play one game versus New Mexico at 9:00 am and then takes on BYU at 2:00 pm. Play wraps up on Sunday with the 49ers facing Fresno State at 10:00 am. Below is a link to live stats for each LBSU game. All of Long Beach's games will be played at San Diego State's Softball Stadium, except for Sunday's game, which will be at the University of San Diego.

The 49ers are coming off of a solid showing at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic where they went 3-2, defeating Oklahoma State, UNLV and Syraucse. Nalani St. Germain was named the Big West Player of the Week after her success in Cathedral City.
In the latest Big West standings, the 49ers rank second in slugging percentage (.426), RBI (56) and home runs (11). They lead the conference in total bases with 150. Karli Sandoval ranks second in the Big West in slugging percentage (.743) and RBI (14), and first in home runs with five. Brianna Stephan is tied for a league-leading two triples. Erin Jones-Wesley ranks second in batters struck out with 59 and batters struck out looking with 19.
