Women's Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Status

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's cross country team has earned 2012 Division I All-Academic status the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.
LBSU was among 200 institutions and one of four schools from the Big West to garner USTFCCCA all-academic recognition. This is the 12th consecutive year the 49er women have received the distinction.
Long Beach State, which posted a team GPA of 3.15 during the fall, finished 18th at the NCAA West Regional, and also placed fifth at the Big West Championships.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
