BREMERTON, Wash. - The Long Beach State men's golf season opener will have to wait a few more weeks as heavy rains forced the cancellation of Monday's first and second rounds at the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash.
Steady rain fell throughout the day in the Bremerton area as the Gold Mountain Golf Course accumulated over an inch today. All 16 teams waited throughout the morning and early afternoon to see if the rains would cease, but officials decided to cancel today's first and second action.
The 49ers will now prepare to open the 2011-12 season at The Prestige at PGA WEST, Oct. 9-11, in La Quinta.
