Women's Water Polo heads to Triton Invitational

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State faces its busiest weekend of the young season, traveling to San Diego for the Triton Invitational, hosted by UC San Diego. The 49ers will play four matches during the course of the tournament, playing two each on Saturday, Feb. 12 and Sunday, Feb. 13.
This weekend will mark the second straight week that Long Beach State has played at UC San Diego. The 49ers previously played a single match at UCSD before taking on San Diego State last weekend.
At the Triton Invitational, the 49ers are scheduled to start off play against a Big West opponent, taking on No. 12 UC Santa Barbara in the team's opening game at Noon on Saturday at the Canyonview pool. The 49ers will then play one additional game against their Bracket, facing either Michigan or Marist in their second game.
On Sunday, Long Beach State will play at game against Bracket A, which includes UCLA, Hartwick, UC San Diego, and Santa Clara. The tournament will then conclude with the placing matches over the course of the afternoon on Sunday.
Long Beach State went 2-2 at the Triton Invitational during the 2010 season, beating Redlands and the host Tritons while falling to UC Santa Barbara and Maryland.
